Then you&#039;ve come to the perfect place."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this post we present five places you can visit on these beautiful islands, putting sustainable tourism into practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Risco Ca\u00eddo and Sacred Mountains<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Risco Ca\u00eddo and the Sacred Mountains are a collection of caves and ceremonial spaces of origin <strong>pre-Hispanic<\/strong> Located in Gran Canaria, this sacred site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019 and has become a key tourist attraction for those interested in the history and culture of the islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Risco Ca\u00eddo is a group of caves located 100 meters above the bottom of the ravine, on a prominent promontory. The cave known as C6 is believed to have been a meeting place for the Fayanes (Canarian priests). This cave is unique in its vaulted structure and features an artificial opening that, when illuminated by the dawn light, creates a peculiar optical effect on the images etched into the cave wall. It is also believed that astronomy was studied in these caves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sacred Mountains, for their part, are a series of <strong>sacred places and sanctuaries<\/strong> in different parts of the islands that the ancient inhabitants considered as points of connection between heaven and earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Anaga Natural Park<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This natural park stretches across a mountain range and valleys on the north coast of the island of Tenerife. This area is a refuge for a wide variety of wildlife. <strong>diversity of native flora and fauna of the island<\/strong>. Among the wildlife, the laurel pigeon and the Tenerife giant lizard are particularly noteworthy. Visitors can also enjoy various hikes along trails that crisscross the park, taking in the contrasting landscapes of the mountains and the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/en\/2022\/12\/10\/why-is-sustainable-tourism-in-fashion\/\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/hiking-female-boots-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6610\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/hiking-female-boots-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/hiking-female-boots-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/hiking-female-boots-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/hiking-female-boots-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/hiking-female-boots-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/hiking-female-boots-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. La Palma Biosphere Reserve<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This island has been designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO thanks to its natural and cultural richness. This island boasts a wide variety of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanvaz.com\/en\/2022\/07\/23\/3-top-routes-to-discover-the-canary-islands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trails<\/a> where you can enjoy both traversing their <strong>forests and mountains<\/strong> like its spectacular <strong>cliffs overlooking the sea<\/strong>. Also, if you like astronomy, La Palma is home to one of the best places in the world to see the stars, the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. The Maspalomas Dunes<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This reserve on the island of Gran Canaria is a formation of <strong>sand dunes<\/strong> extending all the way to the sea. The successful conservation of this reserve is thanks to human action and sustainable tourism. Here you can enjoy admiring the area&#039;s biodiversity and walking on its spectacular dunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Garajonay Natural Park<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, we come to a park full of ancient forests and vegetation in La Gomera. This was declared <strong>World Heritage Site<\/strong> Established in 1986, it is a very popular ecotourism destination. In this park, you can hike through its forests and admire the Canarian vegetation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In short, the islands have a lot to offer on any type of trip.
